Camping on the grounds of the Maidenwell Sports Centre, which is the start/finish complex.
If you are proposing to camp it is a first come first served basis and also please note: You will need to be self-sufficient, with either a tent, caravan or camper van etc.
There is no power for your caravan/camper van. There is a modern toilet block with hot showers.
We ask you to pay $20/adult for the entire duration of your stay to camp - kids stay free.
Please pay Bruce/Digger when you get there. Although this is a ‘free camping ground’ provided by the local council now with a RV dump point, the local community ensure the grass is cut prior to our arrival, and provide firewood our camp fires, so $20-00/adult for the weekend seems fair and reasonable.
The camp ground is ‘Dog Friendly’, however the shower/toilet block is not!
Please be careful with camp fires. To limit firewood usage, please share camp fires, and therefore please do not start a campfire if it is with in 30 to 40 metres of another camp fire.
Most runners and friends have their evening meals as follows:
A $15-00/adult pasta meal with vegetarian option (pay online so as we can get an estimate of numbers to cater for).
And everybody who runs on Friday will be given a complimentary Friday dinner voucher (Not Transferable)
All those camping and staying nearby are welcome to join “The Long Table’ for dinner.
Just bring your own table(to make a long table) chair, food and drink, and share your fare with others.
As part of the Bull Riding, there is a BBQ type meal, in the unrestricted area adjacent to the hotel. The restricted area is the ‘Bull Riding Arena’, where you must pay to enter.
There are also hot meal/snack and grocery options available at the Maidenwell Trading Post (opposite the pub) during the day.
